Actively supporting the work of Dr. Yiota Demetriou - The Dancing Queen Foundation, IronFX participated as a Bronze Sponsor in The Dancing Queen Foundation’s 9th annual Charity Walk that took place on Sunday, 6th of November 2017, in Limassol.
The annual Charity Walk is the Foundation’s main fund-raising event, entitled "I’d Rather Walk Than Drink and Drive". Held every November, the event aims to make a difference by preventing further accidents and fatalities caused by people driving under the influence of alcohol. The majority of the funds are allocated for specialised educational and clinical programmes.
Defying the weather, dozens of IronFX staff members joined other volunteers and walked for the cause. During the event, representatives of from the Road Safety Awareness Office of Limassol Traffic Police, informed the participants on the dangers and the devastating consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol. The Dancing Queen Foundation was founded in 2009 by friends and family of Dr. Yiota Demetriou whose ambition to help children as a child psychologist was cut short by a drunk driver in New York in November 2008.
It is worth noting that IronFX has consistently engaged in significant social activities both locally and internationally. Supporting the Dancing Queen Foundation is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme through which a wide range of actions focusing on the areas of society, sports and education/entrepreneurship are implemented.
